Wrong category shown unless user is logged in

@mtense : ok, in your case you can forget my previous request as the menu items are loading automatically from the category
Please do that :
Create a new "category" module (standard joomla module) to display the items from the category "Lessons" and tell me if you have the same problem in this module as in the accordion module

HI, I'm working with mtense on this issue
I set up the category module and it has similar behaviour. When logged in it tracks categories as expected but otherwise gives the error message 'SERIALIZATION OF 'CLOSURE' IS NOT ALLOWED' when the page with the module on is opened.

*EDIT*
After googling the error message I found a few suggestions. The category tracking works if caching in the accordian menu module is turned off which, from what I've read, suggest a compatibility issue with our template (ja_social_II)?

thanks for the details. I have also took a look in my code but I don't see any error for now
Just to be sure :
- with a hikashop menu module >> it works
- with the cache disabled >> it works
- with the cache enabled >> the problem occurs
right ?
you can try to disable the cache in the module options, specifically for this module (advanced options >> cache >> no)
