Problem with CLICK in Joomla 4

Am just re-writing my website in Joomla 4 from Joomla 3 where Accordeon Menu CK was working well. In Joomla 4 I find that setting CLICK rather than MOUSEOVER (which works correctly) I get a situation where there is a sub menu item(s) that clicking on the parent item does not open the associated article. Hope you can help.

go in the module options >> target element >> set it on "image only"
this will make the +/- icons to open the submenu and keep the link active
