Where to control accordion defaults (open/closed)

1) What forces a menu to default to open/extended? In this link, why does PCB Pallets to default to open?

2) Likely the same issue, but when clicking the second main menu (Component Hold Downs) the menu properly extends. When a sub menu is clicked. (Rotary Hold downs) the top most menu opens up. Where is this controlled?

1/ because this is the active menu tree
the submenu "Wave Solder Pallet" is the current page.

This is not an issue but the default behavior, to open the menu on the active item

2/ in the module settings >> base item >> check that this is on "current" or empty
