for now this is not possible, not so easy, I have more tests to do to make this work. But this is planned

by sub-template, do you mean talking about the child theme ?

I thing so. Usually, I can chose a sub template when I create a new pages with wordpress.
The name of the PHP file is : template-contact.php in the same folder of the main template.
I can select this when I am in the Pages admin section of WP (see attachment).

I can use the single-contact.php too for other fonction.
