Overlapping modules?

I am trying to generate two overlapping modules within a single block, but am finding no success. What I'm after is a transparent logo overlaying part of a slideshow or random image - much like the old JA-Purity template header. Is there any way to do this using Template Creator?

Have tried "Logo and Module", "Aligned Modules", and "Custom Block", all with "position: relative;...",but haven't found the magic yet.

if you want to do "exotic" things like this, you must do them into the file "custom.css" (see the help video for this)
then the only way I see to do that is to use absolute position for your elements, but you will need sufficient CSS slkills
