Stretch Background image to 100%

Hi There,

I am trying to figure out a problem for some days.
I want to put an image in the background of my site. This image is smaller than my site-width and that is intended from me because I don't want to use a bigger picture.
Is there a possibility to stretch the image to 100% in x an y directon behind my site?
