BG color in footer

When I first built this site a few months back, the BG color in the footer area worked as expected (It started from the thin band that now shows and extended to the bottom of the page). However, I just noticed today that there's only a band about 1cm deep in the footer.

I've tried on different browsers and cleared cache. However, on my phone, it's fine. Is it displaying wrong to you?

all these generic rules shall be totally avoided ...

Thanks Ced. Sorry to bother you with my "pilot error"! Where/how did you find this out? That way I can do my own full checkign in future.

I have checked that with the web console of the browser
