Artisteer template and Maximenu CK

I have an artisteer template running on joomla 2.5 and when I place the Maximenu module in the user3 position which is the normal menu position, it will not sit in it properly. It seems to be displaced and appears below it. I can use other positions I have created above the header but then the menu is always aligned to the left. Is there any way of curing the user3 problem or a way of centering the menu so that the top level links appear in the center of the box. Any help much appreciated.

div#maximenuck ul.maximenuck add some padding-left (there is easy way to do it)

I would share the solution but I don't know what I did to cure it. I have 3 extra module positions above the header in my artisteer templates and I nwas altering the CSS of them so I imagine that by changing the margins and padding in them it brought the Maximenu back into the correct position. I will try your solution and thanks.

Ok the padding worked although it does render slightly differently in different screen resolutions i.e. laptop and PC screens but it will do for now. Many thanks.
