Always showing responsive lightbox mobile layout

I am curious if there is a way to always show the responsive lightbox mobile layout on desktop and at any resolution instead of just based on the device detection and based on certain resolution.

you can simply force this in the PHP code, but this involve a hack of the plugin and you would loose the modification if you update

Could I add this hack to future updates as well?

Could you possibly add a setting in future update versions that says "Keep mobile layout on all the time" with a check box?
