columns not behaving when clicking on dif m-item

I have several separate menus publish on the site. The main menu is Maximenu and its left menu submenus module is also Maximenu. I have two different menus in the footer that are the Joomla menu modules. In this Main menu I am using columns. So far everything is fine.

I have another menu in the toolbar position at the top of the page and its related left menu submenus appear when an item from this menu is chosen.

The problem:
When any item from this menu in the toolbar or its related left menu is active the column stop working in the main munu.

The only difference I can find is that most items in this toolbar menu are using Menu Item Associations, they are connected to another link for another language. But all the menu items in this menu group cause the columns to stop working.

I tried creating a new menu module using Maximenu and this toolbar menu but nothing changed. There is another small menu in the footer with some aliases to this toolbar menu and those menu items have the same affect on the Maximenu.

you must also set a column on the subitem "transmode in brief"

When I set a column there the dropdown becomes twice as wide. you can see it now. When the toolbar is active it looks correct but when the main menu is active it is not correct.

have you set a submenu width on hte parent item ?
