Submenu issue
Actually, I uninstalled it and reinstalled a fresh download. My only issue now is changing the overall width of the main menu without having to remove letters/words. There seems to be plenty of space between each item, but I haven't been able to adjust that yet.

please try that :
- in the styles options >> theme >> select "blank"
- in the styles options >> style >> edit >> create a new style if you don't have one, then go in the "Presets" tab and select the "Default" preset
this shall give you the same appearance as you had before

I did what you said but there were no selections available in the "Presets" tab, which is odd because, if I'm not mistaken, there were some available before I reinstalled the program. Anyway, you see the results in the image. I did save my previous style so can revert.

if you don't have the Presets tab then you may not use the Pro version, sorry I did not know which version you are using
so you can download this theme
www.dropbox.com/s/z85sg6o3sb1b2xz/default.zip?dl=0
and replace the files in
modules\mod_maximenuck\themes
in your module, select the theme "default" and see if it works now
