not working virtuemart source

suddenly the maximenu module stopped offering me as a source virtuemart.
It's true that I forgot to add the test domain to the allowed domains.
I added it there, but the virtuemart still doesn't show it.
What should I do?

the source is looking for Virtuemart, if it is installed. It only shows if VM is there

it's weird, i have 2 test copies of one site, both on shared hosting.
Both have 3.10.1 and virtuemart 3.8.4 10335.
on one copy it works, on the other it doesn't.
I am sending login details by email to the non-functional one.
What email should I send it to?

one more finding, if I transfer the module there via the database (from the web where it works), then it works ok until I edit it.
