thumbnails and plugin params

Maybe the topic has been covered before but I was not able to find a solution for my problem.
When I set the height and width for the slideshow the thumbnails do not show (besides only 1 thumbnail which is only displayed half). When I leave width to auto thumbnails do show.
My second problem is with the params plugin. I cannot upload image from a folder in the image directory. It only works when i use autoload.
I am working on wamp currently.

Hope you can help me out here, because I do like your extension...

1/ I don't see what you mean, please give me some screenshot
2/ check that you save the module after setting the path, and then try to import the images

and if you activate the pagination, do the thumbs show correctly ?

When I activate pagination the thumbnails only show on mouseover of the pagination. This is not what I want, I would like the thumbnails to display underneath the image. At times it works correctly but most of the time it doesn't and only show half a thumbnail.
