Hi Cedric,

Yes, the slide show is now running on the front page. This was indeed the problem, that the slide show was no longer appearing on the front page. With your fix, it is now displaying. Does it matter that this code from the unwanted modules is still in the source code of the page?

Otherwise, without your fix, I was forced to disable the modules in the articles on the front page, if I wanted the front page slider to display.

I hope this makes sense.

Many thanks,

Alan

great !

this does not matter now as my fix works. But, just to be sure, can you tell me few things
- on your frontpage only the top slideshow module is assigned
- in your articles you have some slideshow modules
- in your frontpage, you are showing only the part before the "readmore" from your articles, where you don't have any slideshow loaded

is that right ? or have I missed something ? because how is it possible that the modules are called, if they are in a part of the article that is not loaded in the page ?

Hi Cedric,

I am a bit puzzled by this myself.

Yes, normally only front page slideshow is assigned to the front page.
Most of the articles on the front page have their own slideshows called by "Modules anywhere". These module calls are after the readmore. These modules are set to not appear on the front page, but the "Ignore Module Assignments" is set to YES in the Modules anywhere plugin. Regular labs told me this has to be like that for the slideshows to be displayed in the articles. However, with this setting set to yes, the front page slideshow would not show (without your correction). This was working before and I cannot seem to figure out what changed where for this to stop working.

However, Regular labs replied to me that "I think the issue is not with Advanced Module Manager or Modules Anywhere." I do not really understand why, as Regular labs assert, that "the issue is indeed due to those articles being loaded/featured in the homepage. That's why the plugin code of the slideshow in each article gets loaded and executed for those articles as well."

Perhaps I should have pointed out to them that the module calls are situated after the readmore?

I agree with that because

These module calls are after the readmore

so they shall not be loaded there.

how are you calling your articles in the front page, usng the joomla native blog layout, or using an extension ?

Hi Cedric,

Yes, the front page is just an article blog.
