Question No. 2.
I click on the menu items in the left menu - nothing opens on the right. (circled in blue in the screenshot)

great that it is solved
for the N° 2 you can check the option "target element" >> image only
this will make the link clickable

you can find it in the module options : Effects >> Event target element >> image only
