Hi I'm using template creator quite a few years and am very happy with it.

Now I experience a problem with it on a site hosted at 1&1 Germany.

J! 3.8.13
TC 4.0.14
Php 7.2

I can install the template and activate it as standard.
I can edit styles and write them to the template

But as soon as I save the work I get a blank screen and refreshing the site throws me back to the "templates" view in TC.

Any idea?

Hi
this problem can have multiple causes
- JCH optimize, if installed try to unpublish it
- problem with the length of request on your server >> ask your host provider to check that
- browser cache. Try to clear your browser cache, and see if your page has been saved or not

fresh browser - no changes :-(

I have another client site at 1&1 with exactly the same hosting-params.
TC works like a charm over there.

The only differnce to the case now is, that I importet a garbarit from another site (.tck3z) as base for the new template.

Might this have caused the problem?

Strange...
Okay, now I'll have to reproduce the template. Thought I could save some work but obviously I'll have to rebuil it.

is the template really big ? this could be a problem with the length of request

I don't think it's the template size.

I started a fresh one as described and rebuilt the template I want to adapt.
Everything worked fine. But step by step the server got slower and slower :-(
I'm afraid it's a limitation at 1&1.

All caching is completely disabled.
In the .htaccess I commented out the Options +FollowSymlinks

Finally I get the same error as mentiones in the beginning: Trying to save results in a blank screen, former changes are not bein saved.

yes this can be due to the request length (setting on the server)
Please ask support to 1&1 to check what could be the issue and ask them to increase the max post size

Today I stumbled upon this problem again.
Again it was 1&1.
I took a closer look and found out, tht the Php params were good / high enough.

Finally I saw, that both sites were using "Jprotection".

Disabling this while working with TC solved the problem immediately :-)

That was too easy...

Just in case someone else has the same problem...
