MaxiMenu changes my menu item order
I'm developing a new web site on a remote server using Joomla 2.5. I have installed the MaxiMenu module v6 and plugin. Here's screenshot of my first attempt at a dropdown menu:
That's fine, but if I make any changes to the menu dimensions (e.g. height or column width) then my menu items are rearranged in a seemingly random order like this:
Any idea why this is happening please? It takes a long time to put the items back in the correct order every time this happens!
Thanks,
Mike

Hi
please tell me :
1/ is this only a standard menu or an imbricated menu from VM or Hikashop ?
2/ what is the params that you play with and that gives you the wrong order.
So I also don't understand why you have to rearrange the items ... they can't move in the menu structure
also give me your url

Hi CEd
I've just started using MaxiMenu and this is the standard menu provided with the module.
When I first created the menu it didn't expand far enough vertically to contain all the list items so I entered a value for the submenu height. This changed the menu structure and I had to reorder everything manually.
Then I created the menu shown in my first screenshot. I wanted to make the columns wider so the list items were just one row of text, but when I changed the column width from 180px to 200px the menu structure changed again as in screenshot 2 above.
The web site is here: www.wokingham-tc.gov.uk/j25
It is very new and the layout has some problems, but I'd like to fix the menu first.
Thanks
Mike

ok, for now forget the width and height problems. Just put your items in order because I see just a column (in the code) on the 3 items :
town council + town hall + council meetings
sO what I suggest is to unset the columns params, put your items in the correct order, and then recreate the columns. Then if all is correct tell me before changing the width or heiht so I can see the problem

OK I've done as you suggested. All I'd like to do now is increase the column width to stop the text wrapping on the list items.

ok so now edit the "town council" item and give a higher column width, like 220 instead of 180
