Module not honoring settings - Link type->Display

I have accordion menu 2.0.19 installed on Joomla 3.6.2

In the joomla menu manager when you edit a menu item, the "Link Type" Tab offers an option to "Display in Menu".

The accordion menu is displaying menu items in the accordion menu when this option is set to 'No'. When set to 'No' these menu items should be omitted from the menu presentation yet still keep their path if manually loaded.

Does anyone know how to get accordion menu to omit menu items when the menu item "Link Type" Tab has the option "Display in Menu" set to 'No'?

I have checked, by my side the code is written to take care of this option
have you added an image in the link options tab ? this is necessary to work, else even in the normal mod_menu the title will be shown

I have not added an image to the menu item.

Are you implying that adding an image to the menu item will omit the menu item from the menu with display sat to no?

Placing the image only makes for an empty menu entry.

How do I go about omitting the menu item when display is set to 'No' like the main menu does?

- publish the accordeon to show your menu
- publish a standard mod_menu to show the same menu just under

so that I can check this
by my side the accordeon menu have the same behavior as the native joomla menu

The standard menu is on top. It will not show the children eve with 'end level' set to 'all'.

Also in the accordeon menu, on the styles tab I have 'Use images +/-' set to 'No'. Yet the +/- still show.
